Dad passed away peacefully on Christmas Day 2010 after a long battle against Fibrosing Alveolitis. He was a highly regarded Police Officer and Sergeant in the Hampshire Constabulary and had many life long friends in and out of the Police Force. His favourite past time was sailing and spent many a happy hour on the water with family and friends on board and required the services of the RNLI on a couple of occasions much to his embarrassment. After retiring he travelled extensively before this dreadful illness struck and stayed stoic even though the last couple of months became a struggle. He loved Christmas and was the life and soul of every party, once seen never forgotten was said of Dad many times. A loving husband to Edna of 55 years, caring father to Carole, Stephen and Keith and adored grandfather of Michelle, Sarah, Claire-Anne, Patrick and Mia. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him, a truly respected man
